Competition Guidelines

All competing chefs are members of the WNC Cheese Trail and are challenged to create a Brunch Bite following these guidelines:

A cheesy delicacy perfect for that “in-between” breakfast and lunch.  The creation must include local cheese in its recipe and be presented in a small format that will fit on a small plate.

2019 Winner

Congratulations to Chestnut Executive Chef Brian Crow for winning both the Food Critic's Award and the People's Choice Award.

Brian's appetizer highlighted Three Graces Diary Ramp Chevre placed on a rhubarb chip, with local strawberry and micro basil.  

Judging

People's Choice Award - 100 festival attendees who purchase Judging Tickets will have the opportunity to meet with each chef, sample each creation and note on their favorite.  TICKETS ON SALE FEB 18

Food Critic Award -  The Food Critic voting is a blind tasting based on a point system with three judges from our local food community who will be sequestered during their voting.
